Amar – Age 2 – Kosovo

Shortly after birth, Amar was diagnosed with a small hole between the lower chambers of his heart called a ventricular septal defect, and the necessary surgical treatment is not available in Kosovo.

He and his mom traveled nearly 6,100 miles from the City of Prizren to San Antonio to begin his HeartGift medical journey. The hole was successfully closed and Amar made a complete recovery. He returned home and is a very active toddler running, playing, and laughing!
