Born prematurely, doctors immediately detected a heart murmur in baby Camila. Further testing revealed she had an atrial septal defect—a serious condition comprised of a large hole between the upper chambers of her heart. Without surgery, her health and future were at risk, and treatment was not available in Bolivia.
