Little Larah and her dad traveled 1,800 miles from Haiti to the United States, braving the challenges of civil unrest, political instability, and economic hardship. Born with a congenital heart defect—a hole between the lower chambers of her heart—Larah needed a surgery that isn’t available in her home country.
