Aaron was born right on time and quickly diagnosed with a hole between the upper chambers of his tiny heart, called an atrial septal defect. He desperately needed open-heart surgery, but the necessary care was not available. So, the two-year-old and his mother, Freda traveled nearly 8,500 miles to Austin for his life-saving heart surgery from HeartGift.
Surgery went extremely well and only nine days after surgery, he and his mom attended Party With A Purpose where they joined Cowboy Auctioneer Heath Hale on stage. Freda told the audience how thankful she was for HeartGift and Aaron’s newly mended heart. Aaron is now back at home in Uganda playing with his favorite cars and trucks!
