Mercy – Age 2 – Uganda

Mercy was very fragile at birth and diagnosed with Tetralogy of Fallot (TOF), a serious congenital heart issue comprised of four defects. As a very sick little girl when she arrived, Mercy went straight to the Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (CICU) where she had two seizures. Ultimately, surgery went well without any complications and Mercy has a new, healthy heart. For the first time in her life, she has energy to run around and kick a soccer ball and laugh the deepest belly laugh. Mercy was reunited with her entire family including five siblings and an adorable twin brother who missed her dearly. The entire community came out to welcome Mercy, her new, fully functioning heart and her mom home!
