Thatcher – Age 1 – Belize

Right after birth, Thatcher was diagnosed with ventricular septal defect (VSD), or a hole between the heart’s two lower chambers. Belize does not have the facilities or expertise to treat this congenital heart defect. After traveling 1,000+ miles, the 10-month-old and his mother, Aganetha, arrived safe and sound in San Antonio where HeartGift provided life-saving heart surgery at no cost. After a long recovery and two weeks in the hospital, the healthy boy is home in Belize with his extended family!
